Globe and Mail Article -Capturing Olympic Skateboarding in Paris 2024
Hey everyone!
I just had an incredible experience that I wanted to share. Recently, I wrote my second article for The Globe and Mail about my journey photographing the Olympic skateboarding events in Paris. It was an exciting and I’m excited to tell you all about it.
In the article, “Photographing Olympic Skateboarders in Paris Was a Bumpy Ride, but I Captured Something Special,” I dive into the behind-the-scenes of documenting the Games without an official media pass. Let’s just say, it was a bit of a DIY mission, but totally worth it!
DIY and Determined
Without an official pass, I had to get creative to get the shots I wanted. It was challenging, but it pushed me to think outside. Sometimes, the best experiences come from those moments when you have to improvise and make things happen on your own.
Skateboarding’s Big Moment
Skateboarding’s live debut at the Olympics was huge, after having to be closed doors during Tokyo 2020 and I wanted to capture the significance of this event.
Grateful and Reflective
Writing this piece and sharing it with The Globe and Mail has been such an honor. It’s a reminder of why I love documenting sports and the amazing communities behind them. Thanks so much for supporting my work and joining me on this journey.
